This album is a celebration of the many faces of Guided By Voices and the multitude of artists they have impacted through their music and mentality. Using a broad array of recording techniques and musical genres the artists have adhered largely to the lo-fi aesthetic of GBV but some have also mirrored the more produced side of their work as well giving the album depth and raw character; an authentically GBV feel oozes from this album from start to finish. It’s a full 17 track album with a bonus 6 song digital EP! And as our contribution to Record Store Day there will also be a DOUBLE 12” mixed color vinyl set in a full color gatefold jacket with a full color 11” X 11” poster style insert!

Tidbits about recording techniques:
-A few of the tracks were recorded in bedrooms.

-Lou Barlow (Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh) recorded his track 12 times on a Walkman and then stacked on top of each other!

-Western Civ recorded some of their vocals through an old bullhorn. All of their tracks were recorded in their practice room by a guy they had never met before!

-Mass Solo Revolt’s track used vintage analog synths and everything was played and recorded by one guy (Martin Brummeler) at home.

-Superdrag’s track is from the web! Recorded live at The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, MI on March 7, 2001 by Charles Dewey Cole IV… we actually sent the MP3 John grabbed from the web to the mastering engineer!
